Today the kids enjoyed the beach. Garret found a nook where he could laugh at the sand in private. Brenda buried herself. Suzie "babysat" her cousin. And I frolicked.
Now, I love my kids. And seeing them enjoy the beautiful Oregon coast made my heart swell. But I have to say that my favorite part of the trip just might be this...
Can money buy happiness? For about 3 bucks, it's pretty dang close.
And while I'm talking about things that make me smile I want to say THANK YOU for the comments. (I gauge my self-worth on those treasures.) It's awkward not being able to respond like on facebook so...
Sara- I checked out "knock off wood", drooled for a while and decided to start with the picnic table. Want to try together?
Su- Here's my question- What is this awesomely rustic background doing with a "shabby-chic" brand name?? But I actually do like old. Just not "Hi, I'm pretending to be old.".
Mom- Good to know I've got groupies! -specially when they're cool ones.
...Should I leave responses in the comment box? Do people come back and check? What is the proper blog etiquette?
"I need to know. I need to know. Tell me, baby girl, 'cause I need to know..."

Pecan Cluster is my flavor too! Or was that just the picture they had. I may just have to go get one now. :)
I'll leave the Pecan Cluster for you and take the Thin Mint one instead!
well as a matte of fact i have a project from there i am going to do hopefully this week, maybe next, i have the wood for it and everything. so if you want to come help with that you can. i would love to come and help with your table just to get more experience with the whole cut, glue, nail thing. that is usually jons job:)
I always comment back in the comments section, but who knows if people actually check back. I'm with you, comments get me through the day. Shabby Chic have some lovely comment solicitation buttons, did you see them?
Deann- YES PECANS!! I'll think of you next time (in a non-romantic way, of course.)
Ellen- got a blog? let me know! AND- mmmm mint...
Sara- Sounds fun!! And YAY for Saturday!!!
Sue- look at me, I'm commenting!! And I'll go check out the solicitation buttons even though I'm not sure what that is...
You went to the beach? And I didn't know? Hooray for fun times!
You bet happiness can be bought for a few dollars. I have at least a dozen DQ locations stored in my mental data base (brain). It's called emergency preparedness! Blizzard flavor-preferences must be hereditary, cuz your Dad LOVES pecan cluster. I'm a chocolate extreme fan, or when cutting calories, Hawaiian. (Ha! Cutting calories at DQ. THAT'S a joke!)
Sorry, Lindsay...no blog. I consider the idea once in a while, but then wonder who'd want to read about the ho-hum life I lead. LOL!
Ellen, I'd read it! I respond in the comments sometimes, but I'm never really sure if people check back, although sometimes I'll check back on interesting comment threads. If I want to make sure someone sees my response to their comment I copy it to an e-mail to them. Mmmm, pecan cluster sounds delicious. I think I'll have to try that. By the way, just realized the cleverness of your blog name with your family name. I'm kinda slow.
Yeah mom, nobody going to DQ is worrying about calories!!
Ellen-That's the thought that kept mefrom blogging!! I'm with Kathy, I'll read!
Kathy-comment AND email?? Oh, this is turning into work...
