My name is Lindsay and this is just so I don't feel guilty for not keeping a written journal...

enjoy some dirty lyrics...

I started this post by writing- 'She works hard for the money candy' in the title box. It took me maybe 30 seconds to realize what Donna Summer was singing about. "hmmm, maybe a different song lyric" I decided.

Then when all I could come up with was- 'Here's your one chance Fancy don't let me down..." I scrapped the lyric idea and moved on. Sorry Reba.

What's going on in my head?!

Anyway...

As the rest of the clan is icky-sick it fell upon Brenda to claim a fair share of sweets at our church 'trunk-or-treat' event. She made me proud. She laughed, said 'Thank you!', and worked the crowd with the occasional tip of her hat or swing of her cape. Perhaps I was a little arrogant as I paraded her around.

Well, she was the cutest little witch there...

(The tape on the hat is from me. I made it. yup)

Sometimes I want to wear a sign with her picture that says,

She's mine. Neener-neener

Then we get home and she screams at her siblings for wanting some candy.
She tries to flood the bathroom during her bath.
She locks Garret in his room 'cause he's noisy.

That's when I want to
flip that sign over where it would say,

I pay well for babysitting...

teehee.

P.S. I get any candy with coconut.

Friday snapshot

On the 4-minute drive home (shabam) from the river Mike'n I decided that (as we were such good parents in taking our kids on this outing) we are justified in shlumping the rest of the weekend.

Speaking of TV, I'm gonna get back to 'Frazier'...

Should nature be calling...

...come on by!

BEFORE-
AFTER-
I love it. The tile floor makes me swoon... along with the new cabinet color, hardware, faucet, mirror/frame, light fixture, and art work (my beloved Norman Rockwells).

We still want to tile the counter top, paint the mirror frame, and put some design on the walls. (hmmm, any ideas for a wall design? I'm thinking about gray chair rail...)

Now I'm wondering, Why did we wait SO long?? ('Cause we thought we'd have to replace the mauve sink, toilet, and tub... that's why.)

Do you love it like me?? I hope you just like it. I don't want any copycats.

It's still rock'n roll to me

I picked Garret up from school today.  We rubbed noses, giggled, and held hands out tot the car.  I think he likes me.

*The other night I awoke at 4 am, hearing his muffled chortling.  I went to his room and peeked in.  He laughed hysterically at the sight of me (4 am, come on...) then hunkered down into his blanket and settled back to sleep.

*Last week during Parent/teacher conferences I had to apologize to Brenda's teacher for her swearing. (We thought 'America's Funniest Videos' was a safe show but, of course, Brenda finds the one foul word and memorizes it.)
*While working on a homework worksheet she wrote across the top
'STOP IT',
signed her name, and walked away.

*Suzie proudly strolled out of my room, the other day, draped in my undies.  By the look on her face I could tell she felt glamorous.

*While at the park today, she would only watch me as I swung.  I must be one awesome swinger 'cause she cheered and clapped.

*Yesterday I fell in love with this table. (30 bucks!) And Mike... He's been reading, working, shopping, and lookin' cute.

(stupid journal obligations)

I'm watching breaking news of the first man rescued from the mine shaft in Chile. They say that 69 days is the longest anyone has survived, trapped like this. (I'm only a little shallow in hoping the interruption doesn't take up the entire episode of Biggest Loser.) As the first man emerges his young, sobbing son rushes up to him, embraces him, and I've definitely got something in my eye. It all kinda wipes away the frustrations of the day. (stupid dishes, stupid pimples, why is this kid whining, why can't I just eat ice-cream...)

I'm having a reverent moment seeing these families be reunited tonight.
.
.
.
And the shows back on!

Maybe I'll go do some yoga while watching. (stupid jiggly belly)

But real quick, here's some pics from Sunday's birthday party. Garret and Brenda keep aging against all odds. (You all know how I cook, right?)

(Funny Uncle James thought his birthday should get him in a picture or two...)

(Funny Garret would rather eat the candles...)

(Funny Mike get's excited seeing his kids enjoy weaponry.)

(...Funny Brenda)

In honor of those Chilean families we'll have some extra snuggle/story-time tonight before night-night.
