My name is Lindsay and this is just so I don't feel guilty for not keeping a written journal...

retirement plan-

In honor of the numerous blizzards that are littering the country right now, here are some pics of Brenda playing in the great snowstorm from, what, 4 years ago?

'Cause here in Oregon we've been enjoying some lovely sunshine and crisp mornings...

ALSO yesterday I turned, uh, 32.  (I had to do the math real quick.)  It sounds like such a mature age and at 20 I thought I'd have it all figured out by now.  But often I feel like I'm scrambling just as much as I ever was.  So is the magic number 39? 46? 55?

I was chatting with some friends yesterday and I shared my master plan to devote my elderly years to nothing but donuts, tv, and a super-soft lazyboyABSOLUTELY NOTHING ELSE.  I figure that I'll live a good life and at some point/age I'll have earned the right to be a complete slob.  Sounds reasonable, right?  The problem is, every year I age I realize that I'm still the same person.  (Shocking)  So, if this is me at say, age 85, then you'll probably still find me goofing off with friends at church, running down these lovely country roads (in a hovercraft), hobnobbing online, shopping at all my favorite antique/junk stores, tackling house projects with Mike, and pretending to garden.  I'll still be enjoying some amazing, futuristic television... (the Office in 3-D, with a controller that changes the plot like in a choose-your-own-adventure book?)  But all the donuts?  I ate far too many M&Ms yesterday (birthday calories don't count) and a fresh fruit smoothie sounds better...

I always expect to be someone different when I get older, too. Hasn't worked out that way! Choose your own adventure TV shows would be totally cool. You should hurry and patent that. :)

I don't think we ever stop scrambling. We are always improving and falling behind. It's a big spirally progression. But we keep going. I am sure you will be doing all the things you do now and loving it. Plus, you will probably be a pro by that point, right? Happy Birthday:)

Well, I can tell you that 41 is NOT the magic number. 41 isn't looking all that good either. :)

err...that should say 42 isn't looking all that good, either. :)

Saw your comment on C. Jane's blog. It caught my eye as I am from Portland, Oregon as well.

Loved this blog post. No pics from the Dec '08 (wasn't it? was that the one you have pictured?!) storm? Oh em gee, so don't miss the 2' of snow! LOL.

Happy Belated Birthday!

Off to read some more of your blog. :)
